Asthma or Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) - Adults
People with Asthma or Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) and Coronary Artery Disease (CAD) are asked to participate in a research study being conducted by Waterbury Pulmonary Associates.
You may be eligible to participate in this study if you:
- Are male or female at least 18 years of age
- Have well-controlled asthma or stable (COPD)
- Have CAD or other risk factors for CAD like high blood pressure, high cholesterol, obesity or diabetes
- Can abstain from smoking 3 hours prior and 8 hours post study drug administration
- Can abstain from eating and drinking 30 minutes prior and 30 minutes post study drug administration
You may not participate in this study if you:
- Are concurrently participating in another drug study or have received an investigational drug within 30 days prior to screening
- Are allergic or intolerant to aminophylline
- Have had surgery within 3 months prior to randomization
- Have had a recent (within 2 weeks) respiratory infection
- Have had a history of second or third degree heart block or sinus node dysfunction unless the subject has a functioning pacemaker
