Trial Information

Research study for Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD)

This is a research study for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Subjects who meet the eligibility criteria at Screening and meet the randomization criteria at the end of a 2-week Run-In period will enter a 24-week treatment period. There will be a 7-day Follow-Up period after the treatment period.

The study will screen approximately 500 subjects at 50 study sites across the US to enroll 300 subjects. Basix inclusion criteria are:

  • Subjects 40 years old or older
  • A clinical history of COPD
  • A current or prior history of 10 or more pack-years of cigarette smoking (smoked at least 20 cigarettes/day for at least 10 years) at Screening (Visit 1)

Additional criteria will be reviewed with the subject.

Volunteers will be asked to come to the study clinic for up to 12 study visits and will receive 1 follow up phone call. Study participation lasts up to 27 weeks. All study related medical exams, laboratory tests and study medication are provided to qualified participants at no cost.
