SC Liver Research Consortium is the only liver/GI clinical trial
network with 48 sites under a master contract. Consortium
physicians specialize in clinical hepatology and gastroenterology
research and are the best in their field.
- Experience. Meet the thought-leaders of liver
disease research.
- Quality. 90 internationally known
hepatologists.
- Volume. 48 sites under master contract.
- Simplicity. 1 budget, 1 contract, 0
headaches.
SCLRC was formed in 1997. Our clinical trial network is capable
of performing Phase I-IV clinical hepatology/gastroenterology
trials throughout the United States, providing a vast patient
demographic for study enrollment. SCLRC has helped a variety of
biotechnical and pharmaceutical companies meet their goals ahead of
schedule.
Sponsors enjoy expedited contract negotiations because SCLRC has
master contract agreements and a central budgeting process with all
of its members. Consortium-provided FDA assistance make trials leap
forward and patients start therapy sooner. SCLRC plans investigator
meetings, performs site visits, trains personnel, rewrites
protocols, assists with IND applications, and executes
CME-accredited training programs on hepatitis and infectious
disease.
Here’s what David Boyd, Pharm D and Clinical Manager at a
leading biotech company, said about SC Liver Research Consortium
managing a recent hepatitis trial: "This was the most
efficient, rapid and well-organized start-up of any trial we have
been involved in."

Dr. Pockros’ site, Scripps Clinic Torrey Pines, is SCLRC’s
central location for the placement of clinical trials, is based in
San Diego, which boasts one of the most dynamic biomedical research
communities in the world. Scripps Clinic Torrey Pines is a ½ mile

International Airport. Nestled on the northern edge of San Diego,
Scripps Clinic Torrey Pines enjoys the Pacific Ocean at her
backdoor in addition to rubbing elbows with some of the largest,
most prolific research institutions and biotechnical companies in
the world; Scripps Research Institute being one of them.
In addition to Scripps Clinic Torrey Pines, the consortium is
made up of 47 sites, providing the most comprehensive network of
