Summary: Brivaracetam as Add-on Treatment in Adolescents and Adults Suffering From Epilepsy
An International, Randomized, Double-Blind, Parallel, Placebo-Controlled, Flexible Dose Study: Evaluation of the Safety and Efficacy of Brivaracetam in Subjects (≥ 16 to 70 Years Old) Suffering From Localization-Related or Generalized Epilepsy.
This study will compare the safety and efficacy of brivaracetam at flexible dose with placebo in subjects suffering from epilepsy.
Inclusion Criteria:
- Male or female between 16 and 70 years old.
- Well-characterized localization-related or generalized epileptic syndrome, according to ILEA
- Unsatisfactory AED treatment despite treatment with up to 3 concomitant AEDs
Exclusion Criteria:
- Subjects suffering from undetermined epilepsy or special syndrome.
- History of status epilepticus
- History/presence of pseudoseizures.
- Progressive CNS disorder
- Other serious uncontrolled disease
