Trial Information
Summary: Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) and Parainfluenza Virus Vaccine
Intranasal Vaccine Against Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) and Parainfluenza Virus Type 3 (PIV3), in Healthy 6 to <24 Month-Old Children and in 2 Month Old Infants - Minors. Parents/ guardians of children 6 to less than 24 month-old or 2 month old Infants are asked to participate in a research study for a vaccine against RSV or PIV3 being conducted by Jacobi Medical Center.
Your child may be eligible to participate in this study if he/she:
- Is 2 months old
- Is 6 months of age or older but have not yet reached their 2nd year birthday
- Is in general good health and normal growth
Your child may not participate in this study if he/she:
- Has a fever or other respiratory illness
- Has moderate or severe nasal congestion
- Has received any drug therapy within 7 days
- Will or is receiving immunosuppressive agents including steroids
- Has had or will have a blood transfusion within 28 days
- Has received any live virus vaccine (excluding rotavirus vaccine) within 28 days
- Has a known or suspected immunodeficiency, including HIV infection
- Is expected to be living in the same home or enrolled in the same classroom at day care with infants <6 months within 28 days after each dose
- Has known or suspected active or chronic hepatitis infection
- Has a history of medical diagnosis of asthma, reactive airway disease, wheezing requiring medication, cystic fibrosis, bronchopulmonary dysplasia, chronic pulmonary disease, medically confirmed apnea, hospitalization for respiratory illness or mechanical ventilation
- Has participated in another research study within the last 60 days
