Summary: Osteoporosis Study for Men.
Osteoporosis in men represents an important, although long
underestimated public health problem. At least 20 percent of cases
of osteoporosis occur in men and may lead to bone fractures and
height loss.
Diablo Clinical Research and Dr. Richard Weinstein are
conducting a research study to compare the effectiveness of 2
treatments: a yearly infusion of zoledronic acid (Zometa®) versus a
weekly oral dose of alendronate (Fosamax®).
You may qualify for the study if you:
- are a male aged 25 - 85
- have been diagnosed with osteoporosis
Qualified participants receive at no cost:
- All investigational medications
- Study-related physical examinations
- Bone density testing & X-rays
- Laboratory tests
