Center Overview:

Valley Medical Research is located in Valley Medical Primary Care with 3 Internal Medicine/Geriatric physicians. The Principal Investigator has been in private practice since 1986.

Research experience:

Our specialty areas of research are Alzheimer's Disease, Mild Cognitive Impairment, Type II Diabetes, COPD, Depression, Constipation, Diarrhea, Osteoporosis, Osteoarthritis, Hypertension, and Hyperlipidemia to name a few. The PI has been conducting research since 1988. We have worked with CROs such as PAREXEL, Quintiles, IQvia, SyneosHealth, Covance, and PPD.

Facility description:

We are an outpatient facility located in a quiet suburban area on a public transportation route.

Investigator experience:

Meenakshi Patel, MD is our Principal Investigator with Gurjeet Kahlon, MD acting as our Sub-Investigator. Each are board certified in Internal Medicine/Geriatrics. Dr. Patel has been conducting research since 1988 and Dr. Kahlon since 2009.

Staff expertise:

Our Research Nurse is Cyndi Whittington who is a Master's Prepared Registered Nurse with 13+ years of clinical research experience as a study coordinator and rater. Krithika Dhanasekar is a study coordinator with 1 year experience. Jackie Tucker has been a rater for 13+ years and Toni Combs has been our unblinded pharmacist for ~4 years.

Patient demographics:

Our population is mostly older adults over 55 years with 60% over 65. We also have access to Assisted Living and Nursing Home patients.

Other information:

We use a central IRB. We have an agreement with a nearby, local hospital for our imaging needs.
