
Center Overview
Holy Cross Hospital Research Center (HCHRC) is a hospital-based
clinical trials management division of the nationally recognized
577-bed Holy Cross Hospital in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. HCHRC
conducts inpatient and outpatient clinical trials in a variety of
therapeutic areas.
HCHRC provides the clinical trials infrastructure which removes
roadblocks traditionally seen in inpatient studies. Success
continues in the outpatient setting as HCHRC conducts clinical
trials with Principal Investigators affiliated with Holy Cross
Hospital. Each therapeutic area has a team of experienced employees
providing consistency and quality of care.

Facility Description
HCHRC conducts both inpatient and outpatient clinical trials
within the Holy Cross Hospital campus. The proximity to specialized
centers within the hospital allows HCHRC access to a large volume
of patients. Holy Cross Hospital treats approximately 16,200
inpatients and 140,000 outpatients each year. Holy Cross Hospital’s
catheterization laboratory performs more than 1,800 cardiac
catheterizations and more than 500 interventions per year. The
hospital performs more than 4,200 inpatient surgical procedures and
more than 4,500 outpatient surgical procedures a year.
Holy Cross Hospital is proud to have been honored by
HealthGrades for the fifth year in a row as a "Distinguished
Hospital Award" Recipient for Overall Clinical
Excellence". In 2007 HealthGrades awarded Holy Cross as one of
the TOP 50 Hospitals in the United States. In 2005, Holy Cross
Hospital was rated a top 100 hospital for Geriatric Care by U.S.
News and World Report.
Holy Cross Hospital Research Center is located 7 miles from the
Fort Lauderdale International Airport and 3 miles from I-95.
Parking is available in the on-campus parking garage and valet is
available.
The Holy Cross Hospital Research Center occupies over 5,600 feet
of office space with sufficient space for meetings and patient
visits. Monitors have designated areas in which phone and data
lines are available.

Collectively, the physicians on the medical staff at Holy Cross

clinical trials. All physicians serving as an investigator have
received formal training in Good Clinical Practice and HIPAA

Staff Expertise
HCHRC Investigators have dedicated clinical research
coordinators and quality assurance oversight. For efficiency of
budget and contract review, a financial analyst assesses all
clinical trial budgets and contracts.
HCHRC employs a full time business development manager who
ensures timeliness of paper work and meetings during the site
selection process and is a point of contact for the sponsor
throughout the study. The business development manager is also
designs and implements strategies to maximize trial enrollment.
