Clinical Research Experience
Pulmonary Care Clinic & Research Centre conducts research in Phase II, III and IV pharmaceutical and device trials.
We have conducted over 50 clinical studies in COPD and asthma, as well as having participated in sinusitis, influenza and URTI clinical studies. Our staff brings extensive research experience to the Centre, dedicating us to maintaining the highest standards of practice both in patient safety and data collection.
A secondary component of our institute is the involvement in protocol design and the conduction of Investigator-Initiated projects. Our non-drug research includes epidemiology and quality of life measures in the early stages of COPD. We have recently completed an epidemiological COPD trial, whose conclusions were presented at the American Thoracic Societies (ATS), European Respiratory Symposium (ERS) Annual Conventions and at the Canadian COPD Alliance Meeting in November 2004. These results will be published shortly.
Our focus is the continued advancement of our facility as a leading and innovative centre for COPD and asthma research in Canada.
