Rider Research Group operates a 3,000 square-foot clinical facility, along with its operations center and patient service center, at its headquarters location on Hillway Avenue, across the street from the UCSF Medical Center. Depending on the equipment and other requirements of each study, Rider Research Group also utilizes the facilities of its investigator network. Rider Research Group inspects all facilities for conformance to the highest clinical research standards.

Dean Rider, M.D., F.A.C.P., President & Medical Director, has conducted clinical research since 1990 and has operated a private Internal Medicine, Gastroenterology and Geriatrics practice since 1983. He has an M.D. degree from the University of Chicago. He is a Fellow of the American College of Gastroenterology and the American College of Physicians. He has conducted over 27,000 endoscopic procedures with no serious drug reactions and only two serious complications, both unavoidable due to anatomical abnormalities.

Andrew K. Roorda, M.D., Director of Business Development, has authored research papers in publications such as The New England Journal of Medicine and the Journal of the American College of Surgeons. He has an M.D. degree from St. George's University, Grenada, West Indies.

Meryl D. Larsen, Controller, was previously Financial Manager for J. Alfred Rider, M.D. and other organizations. She studied at Boston University.

We have a proven record as a top enroller. Rider Research Group investigators have doctor-patient relationships with over 60,000 potential subjects. These relationships make it practical to quickly enroll large numbers of well-understood patients and maintain their participation throughout the life of the study.

After computer prescreening and manual screening by the investigators, our centralized Patient Service Center assures high-quality recruitment, efficient scheduling, accurate tracking, and consistent follow-up.

The San Francisco Bay Area has the most ethnically-diverse population in the United States. Our investigators provide medical services to all segments of this population, enabling Rider Research Group to provide sponsors with the demographics required for any study.
