Center Overview
Our multi-therapeutic research center, is a private research site which conducts phase II-IV clinical trials. The focus is on internal medicine, OB/GYN (women's health), and infectious disease. Our staff has conducted multiple studies that include cardiology, dermatology, hypertension/hyperlipidemia, rheumatology, respiratory/allergy, gastroenterology, endocrinology. We work closely with active investigators in these fields which affords us the capabilities to conduct multiple therapeutic clinical trials and enroll a variety of patients in studies. It is our mission to aid in the discovery of new medications, or treatments, to help people suffering from diseases and ailments. We are dedicated to providing patients and the pharmaceutical industry with the highest quality medical care. We are always on the cutting edge of new therapeutic medical research.

Clinical Research Experience
The Clinical Research Coordinators are well seasoned in clinical trials with 20 years of experience, working with phase II-IV multi-therapeutic protocols. Our company's main focus has been phase II-IV studies. The Director of Clinical Research, Bilal Shabazz, MBS, has a research background as the Senior Clinical Research Coordinator with Medical Research Centers of California. Bilal Shabazz actively recruits patients for studies from his large database of affiliated physicians and patients in the area. His background in coordinating gastroenterology, liver disease, and internal medicine studies along with 16 years of experience in clinical practice/research has provided a good data base for studies. We have been very successful in working with many pharmaceutical companies throughout the industry: Novartis, Merck, Pfizer, TAP Holdings, Astra Zeneca, Symbio, Solvay, Otsuka as well as multiple CROs.

Facility Description
Our facility is located in Hollywood Florida. Clinical research is well supported in this area as patients appreciate the opportunity to participate in clinical trials without having to travel to the Miami area. We are primarily an outpatient facility, and we will be involved with local hospitals enrolling patients in in-hospital studies. We have a close relationship with the local IRB's and use multiple central IRB's depending on the sponsor's request.
Our modern facility is located in an area close to the medical community. It is on a local bus line for patients. Our facility will extend taxi service to those who cannot find transportation. Our facility is located approximately 8 miles from the Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood International Airport, with many major hotels and restaurants available close to the study site for easy access.

Our facility maintains a close alliance with multiple investigators who are specialists and work with us on various disease entities.
Wentworth G. Jarrett, M.D.
Board-certified in Family Practice and has been very active in outpatient studies. His private practice is well equipped to handle studies from a variety of disease indications including diabetes, hypertension, and heart disease.

Staff Expertise
Bilal Shabazz, BS, MS Biomedical Science. He is the Director of Clinical Research. He as been active in research since 1988 and brings expertise in areas of biomedicine, embryology, immunology and cellular physiology. He has done research in infectious disease, cardiovascular medicine, HIV, gastroenterology, osteoarthritis, and endocrinology. He has taught physical science and brings a wealth of knowledge in education, and manages the electronic data entry aspect of the company. As director of clinical research, he has been very active in multiple therapeutic trials and currently focuses on the regulatory and business management and budgets for the research center.
J. Jamile Munajj-Brown, MSN, ARNP
Has been a registered nurse for 19 years. She became a nurse practitioner in 2004 with a specialty in gynecology and womens health. She has done studies in HIV, CMV-retinitis, perinatal and maternal-fetal research protocols. She has 10+ years in enrolling and randomizing patients into research studies along with training nursing students for a career in the health field. As a nurse practitioner, Jamile is a Sub-investigator. Currently, her focus is to assists the principal investigators in the monitoring of patients participating in the research protocols.
Josefina P. Bell-Munajj, MSN,CNM, ARNP
Has 30+ years of experience in nursing and research. She has extensive research experience in HIV and fetal development in HIV positive women. She is a Sub-investigator and focuses on assisting the principal investigator in monitoring the patients that are actively participating in the research protocols. She is certified in cervical colposcopy, mental health counseling skills, HIV pre and post test counseling, obstetrical sonography, and lamaze childbirth.

Patient Demographics
Research is well accepted in South Florida. South Florida is primarily a tourist and entry way into the US from Central and South America with a population of over a three million people. The area is of moderate income and has a need for different avenues of health care for people who do not have health insurance.
Many of our studies are enrolled with patients responding to advertisements in the local newspapers and on radio stations. We draw from our investigator and sub-investigator's private practices for specific studies. We easily enroll patients and have had excellent compliance from our patients.

Other Information
We are a very successful study site, meeting each study with enthusiasm and hard work. We offer experience, accuracy, flexibility and dedication to all of our study protocols.
We have no turnover of coordinators and offer experienced investigators, which provides consistency of care for our patients and easy access of information to our Sponsors, Monitors and CROs.
