Cochise Clinical Research is a free standing clinical research center dedicated to the evaluation of investigational products that are targeted for use in a primary care setting.

Cochise Clinical Research began approximately 9 years ago as a part-time research center. Three years ago, we began doing research full-time and our center continues to grow and expand.

Our goals are to provide an opportunity for our patients to safely participate in the evaluation of new medical products which are not yet available for general use. We also strive to provide each pharmaceutical company with quality data that will allow proper and efficient analysis of their products.

For over 20 years our medical director has had an active Internal Medicine practice. We have therefore developed a wide spectrum of investigational experience including:

CROs we have worked with include:
PPD, MDS, RPS, Quintiles, Covance, PRA, Parexel, Kendle

Our facility participates in phase II-VI clinical studies in an out-patient setting. For the subjects comfort, we provide a large waiting area with a TV/VCR, handicap accessible restroom and a kitchenette.

We have the ability to do the following procedures at our site:
ECG, spirometry, x-ray, ultrasound, EGD, colonoscopy, urometrics, on site specimen processing

John N. Herrod, MD, has an active Internal Medicine practice and has been involved in clinical research for 20+ years participating in over 100 clinical trials.

We are located in Sierra Vista which has a population of 45,000 but has a draw of approximately 90,000 people in the surrounding areas. CCR is the only research center within 80 miles. Sierra Vista has a large retirement population. Population gender is 50/50, 75% being caucasian, 15% being hispanic, and 10% being other.

Cochise Clinical Research uses central IRBs.
