St. Joseph Hospital offers the latest technology, advanced clinical research and an outstanding medical staff of nearly 1,000, treating complex medical conditions in a variety of specialties. We are located in Orange County, CA, home to over 3.0 million people with a projected growth to 3.2 million by 2009. Our population is currently 33% Hispanic and 15% Asian. St. Joseph Hospital has over 21,000 admissions and over 88,000 emergency department visits per year. More than 42,000 surgeries are performed at our facility each year. Over 1,400 cancer patients are served annually through our Cancer Center and Cancer Institute programs, and more than 4,700 infants are delivered each year at our facility, the highest volume in Orange County.

Facility Description
Founded in 1929, St. Joseph Hospital in Orange is a 412-bed, not-for-profit Catholic hospital dedicated to extending the health care ministry of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Orange. St. Joseph's reputation for compassionate care and clinical excellence - as well as its highly recognized, nearly 1,000-member medical staff - has earned it the distinction of being named a Magnet Hospital on January 17, 2007 by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. St. Joseph Hospital is one of only 231 hospitals in the country to receive this honor, and is the first Catholic hospital in the state of California to be named a Magnet hospital. Investigator Experience
St. Joseph Hospital has an outstanding medical staff of nearly 1,000 physicians, many of whom have achieved both local and national recognition for their clinical achievements. The medical staff is comprised of more than 230 primary care physicians. Members of our medical staff come from acclaimed programs across the country and complete a thorough credentialing process every two years. Eighty-four percent are board certified, and many are double board certified. Our experienced clinical research investigators represent nearly all of our subspecialty areas.
