University Clinical Research (UCR) was founded in 1984 and has successfully completed over 400 clinical trials in many therapeutic areas. Our experienced staff consists of these 3 full-time investigators, 9 full-time coordinators, Quality Assurance Manager, 2 Registered Dieticians, Regulatory Administrator, 2 Patient Recruiters, Coordinator’s Assistant, and Laboratory Technician. UCR has 23,000 names in its research database, plus it is integrated with a large Family Practice/Internal Medicine clinic which has 10,000 active charts. Because of our geographic location (South Florida), UCR has a culturally diverse patient base (35% Caucasian, 30% Hispanic, 30% African American, 5% other) and many of the staff speaks Spanish which helps with patient recruitment. In addition, our site is able to use the services of a central IRB so we can be up and running quickly.

We overenroll in almost all studies we participate in and strive for the quickest possible enrollment. Clean data through our quality assurance procedures ensures clean audits by both the sponsors and the FDA.

Dr. Larry I. Gilderman, Principal/Sub-Investigator, has been board-certified in Family Practice since 1978. Dr. Gilderman is well recognized throughout the South Florida medical community as a leader in both clinical research and patient care. He has served as Chief of Family Practice, Chief of Staff, and appinted to Memorial Health System Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee. Memorial Health System is comprised of three hospitals that serves over 800,000 people with over 500 phyisicians on staff. His experience in research, combined with the completion of over 400 successful clinical studies, make him an asset to the pharmaceutical industry. Dr. Gilderman frequently is asked to speak and write for various medical journals based on his research experience.

Dr. Andrea J. Ramsay, Principal/Sub-Investigator, joined Dr. Gilderman 1999. She is a trusted board-certified physician specializing in Family Medicine and Internal Medicine. Her extensive and loyal patient following speaks of her exceptional commitment, knowledge and concern for her patients. She speaks Spanish and lectures widely in the community and regularly donates her time to charity.
