Center Overview

Advanced Clinical Therapeutics (ACT) is an independent clinical research site in Tucson, Arizona conducting outpatient Phase II, III, and IV pharmaceutical and device trials.

Established in 1996, ACT is staffed by two on site Certified Physician Investigators (CPI) who are board certified specialists with years of clinical research experience. CRCs are certified, experienced, and bi-lingual. Our regulatory and subject recruitment departments assure expeditious study startup and enrollment goal realization. These factors plus internal quality assurance monitoring have earned ACT a reputation as the premier research facility in our ethnically diverse community of 1 million persons in the fastest growing state in the country. ACT’s site database plus closely affiliated clinical practice databases contain well in excess of 50,000 lives.

25 miles from Tucson International Airport, ACT is centrally located within the greater Tucson area in the heart of it’s largest concentration of outpatient and inpatient medical care givers and hospitals. Our facility has been in the same location for 10 years and is perceived as highly convenient to all of our subjects regardless of their residence.

The 4,300 s.f. ACT complex is exclusively dedicated to the facility needs of clinical research. Amenities include private CRA workrooms with broadband data connection and direct dial phone, and 21 CFR 11compliant network with study software. CRCs have offices with dedicated exam rooms. A warm and comfortable reception area supplied with refreshments is appreciated by subjects and guests. A well equipped lab, specimen processing area, shipping area, secure drug storage (narcotic capable), specimen freezers (including ultra-lo minus 70), and ample study material storage space round out the design. Specialized capabilities include pulmonary function testing, EKG, uroflow meter, and bladder ultrasound. Expanded testing is offered through closely affiliated clinical facilities including radiology, bone densitometry, ultrasound, mammography, GI endoscopy, nerve conduction, and many others.

ACT is affiliated with Tucson’s four largest hospitals and several outpatient surgical centers. Our research team and network of physician investigators have experience in the following therapeutic areas:
