Burns and Burn Infections

Burns are injuries to the skin and underlying tissue caused by heat, electricity, chemicals, or radiation. Burn infections can occur when bacteria enter the damaged skin and cause an infection. Symptoms of a burn infection include redness, swelling, and pus or drainage from the burn site.
