A Study of BION-1301 in Adults With IgA Nephropathy
Approximately 272 participants with eGFR ≥ 30 mL/min/1.73m^2 and with biopsy-proven IgAN will be randomized to receive 600 mg Q2W BION-1301 or a matched placebo for 104 weeks. An additional exploratory cohort, not included in the primary analysis, will be comprised of approximately 20 participants (10 participants per arm) with biopsy-confirmed IgAN and eGFR of ≥ 20 to < 30 mL/min/1.73 m^2. The exploratory cohort will be randomized using the same schema as the primary cohort. The primary objective of the study is to evaluate the effect of BION-1301 versus placebo on proteinuria in adults with IgA nephropathy. Participants will have assessments of safety and efficacy for 2.5 years (up to 134 weeks). To facilitate study participation over this time period, other visits may be remote (away from study site) for participants who elect to self-administer the study drug.

Safety, Efficacy and Tolerability of Ianalumab Versus Placebo, Combination With SoC Therapy, in Participants With Active Lupus Nephritis
This trial will evaluate the efficacy, safety, and tolerability of subcutaneous (s.c.) ianalumab given every 4 weeks (q4w) or ianalumab given every 12 weeks (q12w) compared to placebo, in combination with SoC, in adult participants with active LN (ISN/RPS class III, IV active glomerulonephritis with or without co-existing class V features, or pure class V membranous). using the 2003 International Society for Nephrology (ISN)/Renal Pathology Society (RPS) criteria).

A Panel of Biomarkers in Diagnosing Late-onset Neonatal Sepsis and Necrotizing Enterocolitis in Sibu Hospital
The diagnosis of neonatal sepsis is challenging especially the very low birth weight infants as the signs and symptoms of sepsis are nonspecific and can be attributed to non-infected aetiologies including exacerbation of bronchopulmonary dysplasia, apnoea of prematurity and gastroesophageal reflux. Blood culture remains the gold standard for diagnosing septicaemia (either bacteremia or fungemia). However, its effectiveness in the population of preterm infants is compromised.Given the dire consequences of not treating the sepsis early, clinicians tend to have a low threshold for treatment. This leads to overuse of antimicrobials, promotion of antimicrobial resistance, exposure of infants to avoidable side effects from the antimicrobial treatment, prolonged hospitalisation and increased healthcare costs. Hence, there is a need for a clearly defined algorithm for diagnosing LONS and NEC. This study aims to examine the diagnostic utilities of a panel of sepsis biomarkers and explore if they can be incorporated into a diagnostic algorithm which hopefully, can be translated into clinical practice in the future.

A Clinical Study on Albert Wong Frame-based Stereotactic Biopsy System for Brain
AW frame is a stereotactic biopsy frame created by Dr. Albert Sii Hieng Wong. A phantom study had completed by Dr. Bik Liang Lau and Dr. Albert Sii Hieng Wong in year 2017 with good accuracy. The phantom study result is going to be submitted for publication by early 2019. With the good accuracy of AW frame in the phantom study, the frame has been approved by the Medical Research & ethic committee (MREC) for human use in a research setting. In the study, patient with intracranial lesion which required biopsy, whom fulfilled the criteria will be recruited. All these patient will underwent standard biopsy procedure either under local or general anaesthesia with AW frame mounted. A localisation CT scanning will be perform with localiser fixed onto the head frame. Target of the intracranial lesion is selected. The coordinates of the localizing points and the selected target inserted into the AW stereo-calculator to generate the AW frame setting up measurements. Burr hole will be performed and biopsy taken by using Nashold® biopsy needle. An immediate post-biopsy CT imaging will be performed to confirm the site of the biopsy. Patient will be monitored in the neurosurgery ward for any complications. Histopathologic analysis of the biopsies will be done using usual procedure.
