Study Summary

Researchers at the MGH Center for Translational Pain Research are seeking participants for a 4-week study on chronic pain management.

The purpose of this study is to determine whether the study drug, guanfacine, in combination with an opioid medication can help reduce pain and reverse the indications of opioid-induced hyperalgesia (OIH) in chronic pain patients. Sometimes long-term opioid therapy leads to an increased sensitivity to pain, this condition is known as OIH.
